Not sure how this stands nationally, but a couple of things stuck out ot me in this article.

  1. We're focusing more on in-state recruits. Risky, but can pay off.
  2. I like recruiting family of alums and current players. It sets a solid foundation of the program.
  3. We got what looks like a great out-of-state recruit in Laurence Gibson: #2 prep recruit in the country, according to Rivals.
  4. We landed 7/13 and 10/25 of the top recruits in VA.
  5. McCray hails from Brookville, which has a solid football program. I think they won State a few years back.

Can't beat the CT for the inside scoop.

BTU - lots to love about this class. Love that the coaches focused on the offensive and defensive lines and getting the pieces needed to build a great football team - even if there aren't any Ryan Williams or Tyrod Taylors in this class.

Personally - I think (with a little luck) this will go down as our best recruiting class yet. Seven 4 stars and fourteen 3 stars? What more could you want?

Florida's recruiting clout maybe? Nah...then we'd get a bunch of thugs.

I like the focus on the linemen too. God knows that's where we need people right now.
