It appears that Ore's hand is being forced by the legal and academic issues surrounding him - this article says that his mom and old coach want him back at school but he's worried that he might not be on the team in 2008.
Which creates an interesting situation for tech's coaches - while ore really hasn't done anything legally wrong - we all know he's made some suspect choices and generated a lot of bad pr. Given the black eyes that vt has suffered in the last few years - VT's staff might be hesitant to allow him to stay on the team because of the potential media fallout...
Unfortunately branden doesn't have a lot of time to make his decision

Talentwise, this reminds me of Shyrone Stith back in the late 90s. His hand was forced because of his family's financial situation, so he left Tech after his junior season to enter the 2000 NFL draft. He was a seventh-round pick by the Jaquars and played just 15 games in his short NFL career.
Obviously Ore's hand is being forced by much different circumstances, but I believe the outcome will likely be the same in terms of his NFL career. I'm not even sure Ore would get drafted at this point based on one good season and three good games in the 2007 season. His attitude, if anything, will scare teams away, or at least it should.
Don't get me wrong, I hope he can turn things around, but the path he's on is clearly the wrong one.
Nice matchup, eh?
This is a piece that Kyle has been working on for a really long time and now that it's out ...
This is a great story on Brandon Ore.
An interesting assignment on an off week – for someone who follows the VT beat I figured there would be ...
Brandon Ore at 114 yards... I'm glad he is doing well.
